WEEKLY ROUND UP LEGENDS LUNCH, UPCOMING HOME GAME AND MORE

WE NEED YOU - Toyota Good For Footy RafflePANTHERS PROJECT 848

WE NEED YOU - Toyota Good For Footy Raffle – RAFFLE CLOSES 5th September!! – ITS TIME TO SHARE THE LINK !!!!

Team we have just over 3 weeks from Raffle close. Over $ 250,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs with tickets drawn 9/9/22. For every $5 ticket purchased the entire $5 is returned to the club.

Our the last 5 weeks we have delivered $1,000 per week. Our total funds raised as of today is $12,790!

Its now time to ramp up and change our strategy. Our friends at Sherwood just had a $8000 week to go from $17,000 to a tick under $25,000 in just 7 days! This has taken them to 2nd position nationally like a rocket! We are sitting No 8 nationally - a great job but its easy to go super charged!

How did they do it??? SUPER EASY!!!

It took just 25 families to spend 5 minutes sharing their link and they added $7,500 +

Imagine what we can do with how many Panther families and players we have !!

It really just takes a few minutes of your time to share the club link to friends, family and colleagues and encourage them to buy a ticket. I’m sure Sherwood are happy that we share their secret to success by :

• Whip up a quick post on your social media - 2 minutes

• Put something on your LinkedIn encouraging your professional network to support grassroots sport - 2 minutes

• Flick an email out to your work colleagues and contacts - 1 minute

• Text your friends and family with the link encouraging them to support your footy club – 1 minute

Time commitment total? 6 minutes !

Outcome? The Panthers can easily hit over $20,000 profit to use on critical oval drainage works.

There is also a brand new Sherrin footy for one lucky ticket purchaser this week!

Let’s stick together- Go Panthers!

Chair MAFC

Morningside Panthers AFC - Senior Football Annual Special Meeting 16 AUGUST 2022 6:30 PM

The MAFC senior football environment is rapidly changing with recent changes in QAFL league structures and MAFC’s exponential growth in our women’s program. The challenges of COVID have also impacted our process and delivery in several areas of our senior football program. The MAFC Senior Football strategy remains robust and our objectives of playing finals every year in all QAFL grades remains unchanged as does our objective of securing a QAFLW licence in the immediate future (hopefully 2024).

Season 2023 is an exciting opportunity for our senior football squads. A key objective is to tap into our wide club networks and seek new faces and energies to join in helping to deliver the MAFC’s full potential. Our football programme continues to grow and at all levels of leadership we need to evolve and have in place ongoing succession to continue our great football results of the past.

A new senior football committee for season 2023 will be formed with all positions including Senior Football President declared vacant.

The existing President, Paul Mazoletti has undertaken the role for the past two years but with Paul’s increasing work pressures, MAFC Chairman responsibilities and the ever-increasing Senior Football initiatives we need to appoint a new President with the view to taking us forward, in particular, for seasons 2023 and 2024 with an equal focus on our Men’s and Women’s programmes. The club thanks Paul for his dual hat role during the last two extremely challenging years.

DIV 3 FINALS GAME THIS FRIDAY NIGHT

Morningside’s Div 3 Men’s put in a convincing display against a gallant Ormeau to finish the Home and Away season with a 20 goal victory. This gives them second spot on the ladder and a home final this coming Friday night. They play Jimboomba in what promises to be a great game of footy on their march towards the silverware. With the bistro open, live music and cold beer on offer (at genuine 2019 prices) this will be a great night of sports entertainment. Star midfielder Lachlan Angus, when asked about their chances, responded with “We’re definitely going to have a crack”.

GIRLS COME CLOSE IN THRILLER

QFAW DIV 1 - AGAINST MORETON BAY

Both our women's teams entered a top of the table clash against Moreton Bay on Saturday night. Our squad were definitely up for the challenge with only 1 point separating both teams by nights end. Both games were tightly contested all day and goes to show the depth we have in our squad this year with both teams building coming into finals. Well done to Eleanor and Claire who were our Place Bulimba best on ground. Coach Clint Lauritsen is very proud of what he's seeing in this group and can't wait to rip in come finals time.

SENIOR WOMEN'S: Final Score: MAFC 4.7 34 MBFC 5.1 34

RESERVES WOMEN'S: Final Score: MAFC 2.3 15 MBFC 2.4 16
