Luca Rejoins the Tribe!
We are delighted that Luca Winton is back at the Panthers for Season 2024! Luca was a Panther colt and played with Kedron in the QAFA before joining Sherwood to have a crack in the QAFL in 2018. He had a decent crack ending up as runner up in the Sherwood B&F and then in 2019 taking out the prestigious Bill Peirce B&F Medal! Luca is a modest team player who leads by example. He puts in the hard work on and off the field. His dedication and values were rewarded with Captaincy leading the Magpies in 2021 and 2022 seasons. Luca is a versatile player equally at hoyme in the midfield or up back. As a dashing defender he regularly shuts down opposing key forwards and provides plenty of opportunities for his leading forwards. In 2021 he showed talent and tank to be dominant in the midfield and caught ythe umpires eye with a well deserved top 5 placing in the Grogan Medal! Unfortunately an ACL injury early in 2022 stopped Luca’s season. Now recovered and back on the track at Jack Esplen oval for 2024 we look forward to seeing Luca back in full flight! Good luck Luca!
Harry Milford is a lock!
A lethal small forward who can play as a mid, Harry is on board to weave his magic with the Panthers in 2024! Starting in the QAFL as a young 17 year old Milford over the past 9 seasons has created headaches for many opposition defenders regularly bagging a couple of goals whilst creating as many opportunities for his teammates. Harry can be a ball magnet on his day but it’s his signature pressure tackling to win his own footy and then cleverly using the footy with classy disposal that is most impressive and so damaging to the opposition. The Panthers have a strong history of having good players from Dalby in the Darling Downs and Harry will be no exception. We are very glad that Harry arrived at the Panthers after starting at UQ, then having successful stints at Wilson Grange before spending the past three years at Mt Gravatt. Harry loves his footy and regularly gives back coaching youth teams and guiding younger players. As a young QAFL veteran Harry will be a fantastic experienced addition to the Panthers squad this coming year. We look forward to seeing him weaving his magic in the red, white and black!
