The Panthers are gearing up for the QAFL 2024 season with a dynamic coaching panel led once again by Senior Head Coach Paul Egan. The team is a blend of seasoned mentors and fresh faces. A warm welcome to the entire coaching panel!

Luke Gallaher - QAFL Senior Assistant Coach

Luke Gallaher brings a wealth of coaching experience from the Qld divisional leagues to QAFL at Wilston Grange. His three-year stint in Melbourne, working with VFL clubs Williamstown and Werribee, showcases his dedication to refining coaching skills. Luke impresses with his strong knowledge of the game, commitment to player and list development, and excellent communication skills. No doubt, he brings energy, enthusiasm, and innovation to our 2024 QAFL campaign.

Ray Armstrong – QAFL Line Coach

Ray joins us from the Sydney Swans Academy, where he worked with senior AFL coaches for the past 10 years, honing his strategic football acumen and leadership skills. His long tenure at the Swans brings insight and experience on the modern game and coaching techniques. With Ray’s commitment to culture, teamwork, discipline, and excellence, he will undoubtedly contribute significantly to our squad.

Nick Pearson - Development Coach (Reserve Grade)

Nick's enthusiasm and passion for developing emerging players are unquestionable. He joins the Panthers after serving as the inaugural Senior Coach with Pacific Pines Football Club for the past three years. We are confident that Nick will encourage younger players to achieve their best and prepare them well for top-level team success.

Justin Lawrence - Development Coach (Colts Grade)

Justin, a younger coach, has been involved in player and team development for the past five years across secondary schools, universities, and sports clubs. He joins the Panthers from a role as an Assistant Coach at the Brisbane Lions Academy during the 2023 season. Justin, familiar with the Panthers, understands and embodies a hands-on culture.

Noah Answerth - Assistant Coach (Colts Grade)

Noah, committed to helping our colts in 2024, will be at training most nights and attend as many games as his current Brisbane Lions AFL commitments allow. With 5 years at the Brisbane Lions and 55 Senior AFL games under his belt, he will be a valuable mentor for our young Panther talent.

Brad Lynn - Assistant Coach

Brad returns to seniors after coaching Panthers juniors. A great clubman who engages well with players, Brad coached the Reserves to the 2014 Premiership and coached them again in 2015, also assisting the senior squad in 2019.

Martin Longland – Assistant Coach

A Panthers junior and seniors past player who has coached at junior and senior levels across several clubs and tasted success as both a player and coach. We welcome Martin as an assistant coach in our senior squad. Pleasing to note the continuing relationship between the Panthers and Longland family.

We also welcome back our other assistant coaches from last season: Tammie Lauristen, recently assisting with the Gold Coast Suns AFLW coaching; Ross Andersen, moving up from Colts Coach to an assistant coach role with the senior squad; and Ben Lloyd, Phil Peak, Brett Zeidler, Matt Battams, Glenn Conroy, and Kym Mansell, who will continue in respective line and/or Assistant coach roles.

It's a great mix of experienced and new coaches, ensuring strong leadership within our QAFL program and across the club. We extend our sincere thanks to all the coaches for their incredible time and personal commitment to the club and players. Best of luck to all!
