THANK YOU ERIKA FOR YOUR TIRELESS WORK AT THE PANTHERS!

A massive shout out to one of our favs - Panthers Head Physio Erika Spicer (and a bit of joyce). Erika joined the Panthers back in 2013 to get some sports experience! Along the journey she has enjoyed Premierships, many wet days and nights, been confidant to many, friend to all, gained her Masters and is now a principal with our great sponsors Allsports Kangaroo Point! Quite a journey! She also found her soulmate ex Panther Player Andy Joyce. Erika has landed the role of Head Physio at the Brisbane Lions Academy for season 2023. Erika you will be a massive loss to us but we are a much better place because of your passion, energy and care! We all love you and good luck in the new role! Always a Sider for Life

DIV 3 SEMI FINALS THIS FRIDAY!

It was a close game last Friday, however the boys couldn't quite get over the line against Jimboomba, however with their ladder position securing them a second chance in the semi-final, the boys are looking for redemption against Sherwood Magpies. Cheer on the boys this Friday!

Well that’s a wrap for the women's regular season, with a clinical outing down the coast vs Cooly. Our Place Bulimba best on ground was Amy Robinson who racked up her touches across half back, with many of them creating fwd 50 entries.

Special mention to Summer Pearce & Samantha Boustead with 3 goals each. Now for finals!

RISING STAR NOMINATION! WILSON BARRY

QAFL Rising Star - Congratulations to Wilson Barry who was Round 18’s winner.

MEN GO DOWN TO MAROOCHYDORE

SENIORS: A simple game to break down for the seniors, we let our opposition go for one qtr. and the damage was done. Our inability to hold the game up in the 2nd qtr. after a promising start saw us play catch up for the remainder of the game. To our players credit, the way we played the 2nd half was closer to what our group expect of themselves, our ability to defend the ground and then give our forwards plenty of chances at scoring was more the look we wanted. Even at the latter stages of the season we couldn't be more proud of the player group with their willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges, tweaks to game style each week. They have a thirst for improvement. Whilst results don't look the way we are used to here at Morningside this season, there is certainly a lot to like from a development perspective in season 2022 which will give each player a launch pad into 2023. Thanks to our supporters who made the trip up to Maroochydore on Saturday, your support is always greatly appreciated. One to go against Broadbeach at home next week, which will be another great challenge for our young group. RESERVES The first quarter saw the side play good, strong football. Matching the opposition in every facet of the game. It was a great start kicking the first goal and holding Maroochydore goalless for the first 20 minutes. We maintained our intensity through the second quarter and were still well and truly in the game at half time. Unfortunately the opposition kicked a couple of early goals in the third and we struggled to rein them in after that. Once again a lack of consistency across 4 quarters let the opposition off the hook after a very promising start. 4 quarters like the first this week is what we are looking to build to for next week. COLTS This week we were faced again with a big challenge, up against the #2 best in the competition and only starting with 20 players. Well, that wasn’t how it felt from the coach’s box. Our lads were extremely competitive and showed plenty of Panther spirit. We started well in the first term only trailing by 8 points. The second term was our best defensive effort for the season with the opposition only scoring a single behind. The third term the opposition began to get things on their terms as we lost 2 players, Jayden Lloyd with a nasty head clash and Robert Campbell suffering an ankle injury. The fourth term again showed how our group continues to impress determined to not let anyone down. No

t one single player looked to through it or found it too tough. Unfortunately, with some dubious umpiring decisions in the last we found ourselves going down by 28 points. However, holding our heads up high with a great underdog attitude for 4 quarters.

A special mention goes out to Charlie Cole and Harry Taylor helping the Colts out knowing they still had a game of reserves footy to play. Also, to Kai Katzman and Ryley Egan who helped out the reserves. Tremendous effort lads. You are what makes our club great.
